Having worked in the motorsport world for many years now, ranging from classic cars right through to Lemans prototype sportscars we have a wealth of knowledge in this fast moving industry.

We were approached by David Bartum who is the team principal from the world renowned BTCC squad Motorbase Performance.

With the 2016 season fast approaching we were tasked with sorting out a rather shiny looking Ford Focus ST, you may recognise it, very blue and VERY shiny!

We completed the wrap of the car in time for the first race which was no mean feat. As the blue chrome material is not for the faint hearted to fit with, this coupled with the sponsor graphics and all the trimmings we sent it off on its merry way for the season opener.

OKI Print My Ride

As part of an ongoing relationship with Motorbase performance we have been working with OKI and their new wide format printer the OKI Colour Painter M-64s, and wanted to use this new printer to completely wrap a car to be entered in the last part of the Dunlop MSA BTCC season.

The new printer was delivered to Jellyfish Design HQ and work began on printing the many panels for the car, in all just over 30m of print was created for the entire wrap. The design used a vivid array of strong colours, but the printer worked its way through each part with ease and the full livery was printed in approximately 7 hours. Before long the wraps were being cut and prepared to be taken to Motorbase for application.

The process of wrapping the car was fairly straight forward due to the high quality of material used and the expertise of all involved. The full wrap took 2 days, which included the whole car plus all the spare parts, including; doors, front bumper, wings, bonnet and pods.

Not just the PIRTEK car, we also handled the pit walling, hospitality and truck graphics to ensure all was looking as it should. We supplied and fitted the graphics to the sister car of Mat Jackson just for good measure.

Mr Bartrum liked what we acheived for him so much we were also asked to do the liveries for the two Aston Martin GT cars that Motorbase run, we obliged of course! We designed, printed and supplied the seamless walling graphics for the Aston Martin sqaud too, which we thought was quite a good looking garage set up.

Not just the primary installation, we are on hand to make sure all of the teams vehicles are looking brand new for each race they attend.

Once finished the new livery was ready to be unveiled to the public. Mat Jackson's #7 Ford Focus ST was revealed at Silverstone ahead of the penultimate round of the 2016 BTCC. As the first ever fully wrapped car to be entered into the Dunlop MSA BTCC series, the response to the car was very positive. Mat Jackson finish second in the third race of the day. Motorbase secured both the Independent Teams' and Independent Drivers' Titles in front of a delighted home crowd

When the series was finished at Brands Hatch the car was then taken to the The Print Show at the NEC, in conjunction with the Print My Ride competition.

We here at Jellyfish Design are very happy with the result of the look of the car and all the hard work put in by all invloved. Being part of such an event and partnership has given us the chance to increase our reach on social media and in the industry, and attract new customers who have not before used our services.
